Energy Conversion

Energy conversion is a key issue for the implementation of the decarbonisation scenario and the transition of the energy industry to low-carbon technologies in accordance with strategic documents at national and international level. The most important part of the research agenda in this segment is focused on research and development of technologies, methods and progressive materials for the conversion of alternative fuels into useful forms of energy and chemical products, including technologies and methods for reducing harmful emissions, with respect to the possibilities of implementation in the short and long term.

The research agenda carried out in Application segment 1 - Energy Conversion focuses on:

  • research and development of hydrogen technology,
  • research on thermochemical conversion technology,
  • research on technology and methods for the reduction of harmful emissions,
  • research on advanced materials for modern low-carbon energy.
