On December 4, 2020, The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, at its 473rd meeting of the Board of the TA CR, approved the request for extension of the NCE project within the 1st call until 31.12.2022, using up to 50% of the originally provided support.
The implementation of the National Centre for Energy project in 2019 - 2020 has demonstrated that it is a quite exceptional grouping of 24 participating institutions from among research organisations and representatives of the application sphere with significant innovation potential, which are able to fulfil their commitments, both in the field of obtaining research outputs and in the field of commercialisation activities.
During the two-year implementation of the NCE project, a total of 162 supported outputs were achieved in 12 sub-projects, including two patents and 14 utility models.
The achieved research outputs and services will be further built upon in the extended NCE project period 2021-2022. Raising their technological level of TRL6 to TRL9 will allow their wider use in industrial practice in the future.
During further operation, the NCE research agenda will include a range of topics from many different disciplines - nuclear and non-nuclear energy, energy economics, environmental engineering, but also energy engineering, waste management, electrical engineering, computer science, materials engineering, engineering cybernetics, automation and control technology, transport, electromobility, heat and power storage systems and most recently nanomaterials and nanotechnologies application.
