Policy Brief
Policy Brief - knowledge-to-policy
The energy sector is undergoing the most profound transformation in a century. The shift toward low-carbon technologies, digitalisation, decentralisation, and new security requirements brings significant challenges for the Czech Republic—but also exceptional opportunities. The National Centre for Energy II (NCE II), in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Nuclear Technologies II (CANUT II), has prepared a Policy Brief that provides the most up-to-date perspective on key technological megatrends, their impacts, and recommendations for shaping modern national energy policy.
This document distils the best available research from both centres and translates it into a form accessible to policymakers, industry leaders, and the broader public. It offers strategic guidance in areas such as hydrogen, synthetic fuels, energy storage, smart grids, circular economy solutions, and advanced nuclear technologies—while emphasising the need to link scientific evidence with decision-making through transparent knowledge-to-policy mechanisms.
The aim of this Policy Brief is to provide the Czech Republic with a strong foundation to not only follow global trends, but to become an active creator of innovation and a leading player in Europe’s energy transition.
